Hey everyone - I’m back! I arrived in town last night after being gone for a week. First and foremost, I need to thank three people that helped me make it through this week alive:

Gary Hess

Graham Smith

Matthew Griffin

These guys saved me this last week by providing Elite By Design with three beautifully written guest posts. I can’t thank you guys enough - I owe you one! It really means a lot for me to be able to send you an email asking for a bit of help, and the next day for you to reply with a completed article ready to be posted. Your work does not go unnoticed!

I also want to thank everyone else - my readers. I honestly thought that the relative inactivity over the last week would really hurt my subscriber count, traffic, backlinks, comments, etc. And was I ever proven wrong. My subscriber count went up - substantially. My traffic remained very steady and consistent (stats on April 1st), and backlinks and comments showed no signs of slowing down. So thank you everyone for your ongoing support and participation on Elite By Design.

As a side note, I thought I would let everyone that runs a blog know that I just upgraded Elite By Design to Wordpress 2.5! Wow. That’s all I can say. The changes the guys at WP have made in the past few months are truly incredible. I would highly advise that you all upgrade as soon as possible - just make sure all your plugins are compatible! I was hesitant to upgrade because I was worried about losing information or losing essential plugin compatibility. But I did it anyways - after backing up my database of course - and I’m so glad I did.

The new admin is beautiful, new features are great (one of my favorite so far is one click plugin upgrade - soooo smooth), and I am looking forward to exploring all of the new options.

That’s it for now. Regular postings will be starting tomorrow so be sure to keep checking back. Thanks again to my guest posters, my readers, and my supporters - you are all making this online journey so much better!

Nice to have you back. Just a quick note incase you have missed it but some of your sidebar widgets are not working, various errors are displaying.

Did you forget to ‘touch wood’?

    :0)

It’s totally messed up your footer as well. Like it’s not there at all. Probably just one plug-in or something. The error start with the Popular Post’s.

Hope you can fix it ok. I was planning on updating tomorrow, but think I will sit back and see what happens over the next few days, see if there are any other issues to surface.

Was great to read the other posts as well by Gary and Mathew, useful topics all. Anytime you need a break, am happy to write more posts. Prefer doing it for other people than my own Blog for some reason.

Whoops :P Fixed. I was cleaning out my plugins and I must have deleted one of them. Should be good now :) Thanks for letting me know.

I’m not worried about upgrading anymore since I installed the automatic upgrade plugin. It is truly a lifesaver. Just a few clicks and everything is done.

Ha, that’s what I used too Gary. I’m so glad I found out about it - such a headache saver!

Sounds like a great plug-in. Thats one benefit of hanging back from a major upgrade like this for a few days, valuable hints and tips start popping up…

I’ll take whatever I can get. For my own part, I used this to back up my Database. You probably know about it, but it’s really rather smashing. Even emails you the backup and you can set it to schedule regular back-ups. And it’s all done it a few minutes from installing to completed back-up.

    Wordpress Database back-up plugin.
