Pattern Tap : A Web Designer’s Paradise

Have you ever found yourself browsing through dozens of CSS galleries in search of an inspiring design for your next big project? I know I sure have. This is a fine method to getting inspired by entire web designs, but what about smaller elements of the design? For example, what if you were looking for inspiring navigation menus? Or inspiring footer designs? Instead of wasting time trying to sort through hundreds of tiny thumbnails of websites, try Pattern Tap.

Pattern Tap has become one of my favorite places to get design inspiration in the last couple of weeks. PT offers a unique option of categorizing their site according to different design elements such as headers, borders, navigation, forms, etc.

This method of categorization is perfect for any web designer. If you are working on a design and have a pretty good idea of what it will look like, but are unsure of how you should work the footer, simply check out Pattern Tap’s footer category to see inspirational footer designs. The same applies to over 46 categories ranging from typography, search areas, portfolios, thumbnails, comments and internal advertisements.

If you haven’t already, give Pattern Tap a try the next time you are looking for web inspiration - you won’t be disappointed!

it’s a nice site. i frequent http://www.designmeltdown.com/ for similar reasons. DM divides web sites into very specific categories. also they feature some less known sites that are very impressive.

I like this site, but I get discouraged easily with web apps like this. Why? Because I know I’ll never be as good as Evan Eckerd (see http://www.dinpattern.com ) LOL!
