Get Inspired - Fave Up

Fave Up has become a major source of inspiration for me when I am designing. Fave Up is a gallery where anybody can submit their logos, web designs, and business cards to be reviewed and rated by a community of other designers.
While it can be fun to check out all the designs and rate them up or down, the real value of Fave Up comes from the inspiration they provide. Essentially it is a website filled with nothing but artwork for you to look at. All you have to do is choose the category you are interested in; logos, web designs, or business cards.
From there, you can click through page after page of designs and find the ones you really like. The best part is that there are so many different styles of art on Fave Up that it will get you thinking ahead to your next big project or design.
I know that you will find Fave Up as helpful and inspirational as I have over the past weeks and months. To give you an idea of some of the designs you can find on here, I’ll show you a few of my favorites:

Hi Brian,
Another great source of inspiration, love it. HAd seen the website a while ago, but lost it and forgot about it, so thanks for getting back in contact with it.
Just a side thought. Have you thought about putting ScratchBack on your site, I know plenty of people who jump at the chance to show you some ‘love’ through a small donation? I am listed on several sites at the moment and have it on my own. I am convinced this would really work well for you and for anyone who listed with you.
There templates suck, so maybe you could design a new one for them????

Hey Graham, thanks a bunch for the recommendation. I added scratchback to my sidebar. I’ll wait and see how well this works, hopefully I can pull in a few donations.
It would be cool if I was able to design some templates, we’ll see
Hi Brian
Wasn’t sure if you were aware, but ScratchBack does not seem to email you to let you know that some one wants to go on your list. YOu need to actually check ScratchBack from time to time to check. At least with me anyway…
I paid up to get on yours, so you should see my name waiting for approval.

I just checked Graham, and it is telling me that you haven’t paid. Any ideas?
Brian,
Just re-applied to your Scratchback. Possibly I didn’t proceed all the way with my initial PayPal thingy, so hopefully this will get it.
Let me know if you still have a problem.
I have been chatting to Kim Kukral who is responsible for this and a host of other novel ideas. He is really cool and really open to suggestions about improving the ScratchBack idea. They are already creating narrower width lists as I mentioned to him I have seen a number where they are just too wide and float of the side.
He even tipped on mine which was great. So maybe get in contact with him and offer up some ideas for designs. I know the just ran a competition for designs, which closed. The one you used was the winning design.
So I know he will be open to receiving new ideas and designs.
I have been pretty active on this ScratchBack idea, have been planting my link on a lot of Blogs that I otherwise would not of had a chance of getting on to. So i think one needs to look at this more in terms of what it can do for you and your site rather than what financial gain you will get from people listing with you.
It’s a dead cheap way of getting links on other ‘great’ sites. My views went up almost 300% in two days after listing on 5 other ‘good’ scratchback sites. Now I just need to have some decent content on my Blog!! The increase was just unbelievable.
Best
Graham

Thanks Graham, that did the trick
I’m definitely looking into scratchback to see what I can do with it. I’m doing some design work right now, but as soon as I’m finished I’ll get in touch with Kim and see what we can do in terms of designs.
Thanks a bunch for the tip, the advice, and the comment.
There’s a similar widget available from http://www.BringaBuddy.net which has a width of 160px and fits in most sidebars.
Check it out…
