Free Mac OS X Icon Set
I’ve been wanting to give away something to my readers for quite some time now – and I have a lot of plans for free WordPress themes and other web related goodies. But today, I want to give you all a 100% free icon set I have created titled simply, “Mac OS X Icon Set.” This is nothing fancy or complicated – it is just a simple icon set featuring the logos from your favorite OS X applications.
.
.
I created this set because all too often I am looking for icons for different applications such as iChat, Mail, or Safari to use in my projects. I know that there are hundreds of other people that are searching for the same thing. This icon set is meant to help you out and provide a clean, professional icon to use in all of your projects without having to resort to Google Images or another shoddy image finder.
Right now the icon set comes with 100 icons – fifty of them are black, fifty are white. Of the black ones, twenty five are 128×128px and twenty five are 64×64px. The same goes with the white icons. When you download this icon set, you will receive all 100 icons along with the original PSD file used to create the icons. This means that you can modify background colors, glosses, borders, and the icons themselves to suit your needs.
I have put these up for download at deviantArt – so follow this link to be taken to the page where you can download these icons for free.
Please comment and let me know what you think! I hope they help, and stay tuned for more freebies down the road!

Wow! The best I saw so far! Already using them. Keep up the great work!
Here are some I might like to get in a future V. 2 (I know I could create them with PS, but I removed PS from my Mac because the app was too much bugged): TextEdit, MS Office Mac 2008 (4 apps + yellow Office Mac logo) , iWork ‘08 (3 apps), Mail, Adobe Acrobat/Reader (or pdf files), Toast Titanium 9, LimeWire, GoogleEarth, iMovie 7 (new icon), Aperture, RealPlayer, 7 folder icons matching 7 Apple Finder default colors.
Thanks in advance!
@Pierre – Wow, some great suggestions. Yep, I’ll get v.2 out tomorrow – how does that sound?
I don’t have all those apps you mentioned – iWork ‘08, Aperture, and the new iMovie, but I’ll get all the ones you mentioned plus some
Thanks a lot, Brian!
Very nice! Thank you so much!
But i was wondering, in the .psd, you only provided the white background. Could you tell me how to make the black background? i played around with the Gradient, but i couldn’t seem to get a perfect match…
Thanks.
