On January 1st, 2008 a blog somewhere out there released one of the most beautiful blog themes I have seen. Yet nobody knew. That is until that blog posted a photoshop tutorial on Good-Tutorials. I found Great Design yesterday while I was fumbling through the latest tutorials online. The second I hit Great Design’s website, I was hooked. The theme of his site was not clean. It wasn’t pretty. But it was, and still is one of the most creative themes I have seen online.

I want everyone to check out Great Design and see the theme that James is using. Take the time not notice how every single post is inside of a ripped piece of paper. Take the time to notice the stains all over. Look around at how well he incorporates his ripped paper idea into every area of the them - he even has ripped paper for his “advertise here” buttons! But more importantly, check out his post about the new design. I was blown away by the design that is being used now, but this post shows 2 sketches he was going to use, but ended up not liking them!

It’s too bad this blog is on Blogspot, otherwise it would be truly great.

    Hey

Thanks for posting about my site. That was really cool of you. Keep up the good work.

P.S. Blogger isn’t to bad, I don’t have to worry about hosting. I did at one point think about getting a custom domain, but at that point I had to many back links and a good pr to worry about it.

    James :)

Too bad it’s a huge rip-off from Web Designer Wall. Specifically taken from this tutorial.

That is a pretty creative theme. I love the alien dude too.

Sure thing James. A custom theme would just be more attractive.

@Will - I still think that the illustrations are really great and he made it look quite nice.

Gary - the alien is my fav. too :)
