As another installment in this list series going on at Elite By Design, I wanted to show everyone some really neat web portfolios that I’ve seen around the internet. As web designers, we always need to think about how potential clients are looking at our works and determining whether or not we are worth hiring. For that reason, Having an impressive, clean, and more importantly, creative, portfolio is a great way to leave a good first impression on first time visitors.

Need some inspiration to craft your own web portfolio? Just take a look at the 22 listed below and I’m sure that you will find something to help you along the way. Just as well, take a look at some of the site designs. Definitely a great addition to what you got from 25 Most Inspirational Website Designs.

A nice collection, good going from elitebydesign.com. this gives me some motivation to radically overhaul our site. The main thing was the simplicity of design and use simple palettes and fonts.

I personally like the 1st and 3rd ones the best. The simple clean colors contrasting off one another.
    Intriguing!

Keep this one short, don’t want to become known for ‘long winded comments’. :)
The only thing this post has done for me is utterly depress me… :(

How can one even come close to achieving the wonderful designs here, makes me wonder and think about my own abilities. Inspiration is one thing, but knowing that these sites are on a totally different level is another. If i can’t be that good why do I bother! :)

Good collection, need to re-look at this list when I am feeling more confident about my own abilities.

    @ Graham,

I know that your comment wasn’t to me, but I still thought I’d give you a little vote of confidence –

Thanks to the blogosphere, there are millions of resources out there dedicated to you, I, and every other person out there who loves to create, just lacking a little on the know-how. All it takes is a little time, a little more patience, and an infinite amount of effort! Trust me.. I’m going through the same thing with Illustrator, and it drives me nuts.

Don’t give up! I’m sure many of those designers have taken months to years to develop their stylistic eye, so just exercise some patience and dedication and you’ll get there!

Call me old-fashioned, but I think simplicity and accessibility is of paramount importance. Google and facebook are a testament to that. My website (http://www.gazethru.com/) aims to follow that principle too. Hence I prefer the designs with the white background.

This is a great post. I am currently a graphic design student, and I am constantly working on making a better portfolio. These are great examples of what an outstanding portfolio should be. I can’t think of a better way to show off how great your design skills are than to have your portfolio noticed because of how well designed it is. I like the third one; it has a good balance of looks and ease of use. Shows some creativity, but it doesn’t keep the user from seeing the work, which is obviously the point of the portfolio. Great post, it was very informative and helpful. Another great post from elitebydesign.com thanks again.
